Grade 12or equivalent
Verbal fluency in English
Able to swim move unaided in water with a life jacket
Be an able-bodied person with excellent general health.

12 days Mondays – Fridays 9am – 4pm
Approximately every 8 weeks of the year (January to November)

Exam Method: Written at SAMSA based in Durban
Exam Format: Multiple Choice questions. No Textbooks are permitted
Number of questions: 100
Time Allowance: One hour
Number of exam attempts: 2


International STCW Licenses is awarded upon successful completion of the final two examination
