Why Is It Important To Get A License?

It is crucial to understand the legal framework surrounding drone usage in South Africa due to the rising popularity of drones in the country. According to the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA), flying drones in South Africa is permissible. However, there are specific regulations in place to ensure the proper management of drone operations.

To operate a drone for professional or commercial purposes, it is mandatory to possess a valid remote pilot license approved by the CAA. Additionally, an approval letter allowing the operation of the drone is required.
