Course Details
Admission Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent / Fluency in English
- 18 years old by the time you write your final SA-CAA exam
- Fluency in English
- Able to swim move unaided in water with a life jacket
- Be an able-bodied person with excellent general health.
- Laptop:Google Chrome browser, Java script enabled, Minimum screen resolution of 1024 X 768 pixels, Acrobat Reader version 11 or above, HTML-enabled e-mail client (to be able to read e-mails generated by the system)
Course Duration
- Blended 1 year:
- Full time 43 Weeks – Mondays – Fridays 8am – 4pm (may vary) and distance learning 3 months
- One intake per year (February)
- Mondays – Fridays 9am – 4pm
- Intakes: Approximately every 12 weeks of the year (January to November)

Online exam with remote supervision (OERS)
Exam Format: Multiple Choice questions, Closed Textbook
Number of questions: 100
Exam months: January / March / May / July / September / November
Time Allowance: 3 hours
Passing Grade: 60 correct answers
Distinction Grade: 85 correct answers

2nd exam:
Exam Method: Classroom exam at the SA-CAA
Exam Format: Multiple Choice questions. No Textbooks are permitted
Number of questions: 100Time Allowance: One hour

3rd Exam:
Exam Method: Online exam
Exam Format and Passing Grade: At the end of each module, a certificate of completion is awarded to those who pass each module with 70% and have viewed 70% of the course content.
